In the audio, he shares with us his feelings and beliefs on the relationship between science and human beings. To him, the purpose of science is not only to explain, but also to inspire people.

The hope for truth in science has brought peoples with different social believes and cultural background together, and that’s what really happening in the universities in the US and other parts of the world. Many scientists from different nations cooperate with each other and discuss science based on evidence and logic. Science makes us feel small, but it also takes away our pride so that we can observe nature and make discussions with greater objectivity and more appreciation. Sometimes, scientists may have argument upon an issue, but it is just the way they try to search for the ultimate truth of the world. This is their common goal. The slogan of the Beijing Olympics describes the community of science vividly, “One World, One Dream.”
